Middleham is famous for its 12th century castle, once home to Richard III, which can still be explored today.
It is also famous for horse racing and training. Many race horses are trained in Middleham, and early risers can
watch the horses being ridden out on to the gallops on the Town Moor for training every day.
Honeykiln Cottage is an excellent base for a walking holiday with many attractive walks starting from the village and around.
Aysgarth Falls is a famed local beauty spot, and there are beautiful river-side walks near the waterfall.
